I was looking forward to hearing From The Other Side live, but the sound
is fucking awful! Goes into the collection, but I know I won't be playing this
ep much I'm afraid.

Anyone read the statement King Diamond wrote regarding his appearence in the gay Metallica guitar hero?
Regardless, Cool story and wild mission to search for the master tapes of Melissa!

Indeed an interesting story; I'd be interested to hear how those tracks turned out....if only King would record a new MF album though....

What's more important is he got 4/5 of Mercyful Fate's original lineup back together to rerecord Evil and Curse Of The Pharaohs for it- and the new versions will be going up for download (and hopefully a 7" boot hehehe)

It also means maybe that Mercyful Fate reunion is getting closer...

the band is technically still active but on hold; the reunion took place 16 years ago.

Yeah, Mercyful Fate has split up only once, that was in 1985.
If they record another album, it's no reunion, only a blessing!

And who is the lucky collector with the Melissa master I wonder!

King Diamond is making more money on his own name, so I guess chances for a MF reunion is pretty low.

I agree. I have to say though, for me "Time" is Mercyful Fate's best album (*ducks rotten fruit). Sure, it would have sounded much better if it were recorded after "Don't break the oath", but there is still just something so magic and dark about songs like "Witches Dance", "Lady in black", "Time" and "The Mirror".

Everything else Mercyful Fate has done since after "Time" has been very mediocre.

Really, with a duo like Sherman and Denner, an album isn't going to suck. My least fave MF CD was Dead Again and some of the lyrical ideas on Into the Unknown were cheesy, but the riffs and solos were awesome. I'm really looking forward to them sitting down and coming up with new material. Regarding reunions sucking.... there is an exception to every rule and when MF reunited, both In the Shadows and Time were/are great releases in their legacy. Some classic tunes on both of those.

I too was amazed how almost the entire original lineup got together for this!
I'm interested in hearing the re-recorded versions, but I don't want to get it on Itunes. .

I completely agree with you that "Time" has something special; That being said, I do enjoy "Dead Again" quite a bit as well.
