I got this one, really decent one. And it was pretty cheap too, a good record player can be really expensive. It costed 17.000 Icelandic Krónur, but since the Icelandic currency is totally sodomized it would be like 22-24 Icelandic Krónur now that is around 190-210 dollars, pretty fair.
Gives great sound and you can simply connect it with USB to your computer and rip the lps with great sound, and connect it to your speakers. Works great. |

Hmm, would be cool to have, less chance of records getting destroyed by scratching. |

Just don't play your records drunk and you should be good to go. |

Well I'm actually t-total (with very good reason!) so I don't have that problem but I think its 'cause my LP player is fucking ancient and the needle needs changing. Don't know where to get a replacement either! |

Laser turntable?!
Madness.
Will that still have the same sound quality as a stylus? _________________ Speeding Through Hell!

(Apologies if I spark the same old boring debate.) |
Isn't there a much cheaper version of that on the market at the moment? |

For my home, it solves a problem that doesn't exist. Namely, modern turntable systems with the minimal weight of the tonearm on the vinyl won't wear out records from normal play, unless you are not careful and are stupid enough to scratch them.
As for the convenience factor, if they make a car stereo version, then maybe. Imagine inserting a full LP into your dashboard! _________________ THINGS THAT WILL BE DELETED:
