I´ve been on a big KD kick in the last few weeks, rediscovering his catalog. Since there was already a poll about the early records, here´s one for the later albums. Vote for your favorites and tell the board about your choices.

Terribly hard to pick. They all got something special about them, "Give Me Your Soul" included.

Would've probably been better if they spaced the songs out differently. All the best tracks are on side one, lol.

OR it could have one of the best Heavy Metal EPs ever made!

From memory they sat on some of the material for a while. Perhaps the first half of the album was written earlier, say not too long post The Eye, and then the rest written in a hastily manner once he signed to Metal Blade.

I'm saying Voodoo but Abigail II and The Puppet Master edge out an almost flawless discography.

Today I played Abigail II. I couldn't think of any other 'album pt. xx' that lived up the expectations of the original. Not saying that Abigail II is better than the first, but at least it is somewhere near the original.

I took a very strong liking to Puppet Master upon its release, so I am goin to vote that one.
I really loved the Spiders Lullaby though too, played that one a lot... but over time some of it moved itself into a second choice option especially if I take Puppet Master into consideration.

Glad to own them all though! Very Happy

The Puppet Master has a great concept which is King's USP anyway Smile

They are all at least “good” albums (save maybe GMYSP). I’m not really sure which I would pick as the best of the lot as they are all very different albums. Few things I do have to say: The last few tracks off The Graveyard are underrated as fuck (I Am/Lucy Forever, but you could honestly edge that all the way back to Digging Graves). Abigail II has the unfortunate label of being a sequal album, but there’s an untouchable darkness to that. Mommy or whatever that last full-track near the end is? Fuck. The evolution of the band’s sound into the Puppet Master made sense, but completely stalled on the last record. Been nearly a decade, interested to see what’s next for King.

Edit: voted for HoG; always liked that one. This Place is Terrible/Help/title song are alll great.

House of God gets my vote, because I like the subject matter, and I used to jam out to this album with my younger brother almost daily.

Graveyard is just a great album all around, and that extends to the later tracks too. I love the imagery of KD's talking head being shoved into a little girl's backpack.

Very easy choice since The Puppet Master is the only one of these that has no filler at all.
