Wish they'd let D666 play their whole set, though, does anybody know why they got cut off early?

Curfew I reckon.
Same thing happened to Asphyx, but I and others blame Mayhem for that. Their set was a bit longer then it should have.

Indeed, Mayhem played way too long; Asphyx still killed it though. I was kind of pissed though that they got turned down towards the end of "The Rack" because it was already 11.

Yeah, and according to Martin they had to cut off 2-3 songs because of it.
That guy was mega pissed at the end.

He was very vocal about having the set cut off at the hotel the following morning, calling Mayhem rockstars and such. One-off bands should be given the longer sets over touring bands every time!

100% agreed about Mayhem, but they cut Destroyer 666 off at around 10:20 or so, and the curfew was supposed to be 11:00... they barely got to play a half hour set, even though there was plenty of time left. Too bad, they're killer live.

I know, that was damn early as well.
Maybe they needed the remaining hours to break down the stage?
After D666 there was Boltthrower, Devourment and Sigh in the inside stage.
I saw nothing else after D666 as I remained in the back/side stage cooling off/hanging out.
Breaking down the stage deff took 2+ hours to do.

I remember D666 were somewhat 'rushing' towards their set a bit to play as many songs as they can.
Then KK goes ' so what song should we end with tonight?!'
Everyone in the front were litteraly yelling for 'Satanic Speed Metal' , with the look of contemplation between Shrapnel, Matt and KK they were just like..ahh, fukk it, let's do it - and so they did!
Killer ending!
KK looks over to the soundguy and said if they can have at least 5 more minutes.
They finally got it and ended with their national anthem 'Australian & Antichrist'!
Menacing set from beginning to end.
Only they know their mistakes, because for me this set was powerful and flawless!

I don't think breaking down the stage entirely explains it... they'd planned for Pestilence to play the outdoor stage right to 11:00, and KK mentioned 11 when he was on stage as well. Frankly, I don't see why another half hour would have mattered to the organizers... and it obviously mattered a lot to D666, and to everybody who'd come to see them.

If MDF has the outdoor stage again next year, they really need to improve. Cutting the last band off two nights out of three is bullshit; it should never have happened no matter the excuse.

At any rate, I agree about the D666 set. It was certainly one of the best during the whole fest, exceeded (for me) only by Bolt Thrower's second performance... and even then, I'd have been happier with seeing the rest of D666 and then catching the rest of BT, seeing as how I already saw them on Saturday. I was really hoping to hear "Lone Wolf Winter"!
