John Carpenter's The Thing- one of my all time favorites

I watched the 2011 Prequel to this for the first time the other night. It was ok. Some really not great CGI, and lack of claustrophobic tension and paranoia though. Still, liked some of the nods and links to the classic Thing.

Got this lined up funnily enough! The name and era was enough for me to think "yeah, this will be what the title says!"

Fuuuuck I just watched the first look at SBC's new Showtime gig "Who is America?". Unfucking believable. Can't wait for this one but it's going to be really hard to watch with all the cringe inducing awkward moments.

A good Korean action/drama/thriller to watch is The Villainess (2017); opening scene is amazing. Also, you're better off skipping the trailer.

Kinderguardians is fucking horrifyingly amazingly simultaneously hilarious, and unbelievable to be honest. BUT....not really surprising. This IS America...the new U.S.S.A.R!

Currently watching 'Yellowstone" on Paramount Network.

It's actually very well done, imo...written/directed by Taylor Sheridan [Sicario, Cold River, Hell or High Water]

A lot to unpack in the pilot episode but so far, so good.

Yeah, Cruising was really good. The realisation that I mostly dress exactly like that not so, but what the hell. Very Happy

Duel is another mandatory film for truckers!

Hereditary, finally. Certain aspects to it were simply nightmarish and really out of this world – a true (occult) horror in the real sense of the word. Not many films out there like this one.

Can definitely see the similarities with the VVVitch, but I'd say Hereditary is even more gruesome.

For the Korean movie lovers: Watched two absolutely weird (but in a good sense) flicks, that had all the ingredients, that made the whole thing "tasty":
First one was "Iggi/Moos" (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1694019/?ref_=nv_sr_1) and the second one was "Cold Fish" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1632547/?ref_=nv_sr_1
bon appétit!!
