Circumscriber (UK) had some rather adventurous programmed drums which suited the eccentricity of the music back in the early 2000's.

The One - Guardians Inhuman. A never mentioned singular fucking classic. Nothing else like it.

Not really into them but it was impressive that they managed to pull this off live with a real drummer (and a lot of triggers)

Maybe not super OTT but Graveland's Thunderbolts of the Gods had some bizarre drum programming. Sort of like pagan drum n bass beats.

I feel bad for sleeping on this band; this is really weird and cool.

Reek of Unzen Gas Fumes are masters of insane drum programming.

Are the drums for Phosphore Blanc programmed? They somewhat sound like it, but it's hard to tell...

I believe Phosphore Blanc first album is programmed druns and 2nd full length is real drummer if I remember correctly.

Also, this is fantastic black heavy metal with bitchin’ solos and programmed drums. Waxen is rarley mentioned here but this short song deserves some attention. (Sorry, not from before year 2000)

Never thought I'd see Waxen mentioned here. Perhaps the only band from Wyoming worth giving a shit about

"Over the top" - definitely Forgot until 2003, music is impressive, but that drum-machine almost make it unlistenable not for die-hard fans.

Hate Forest - Battlefields is pretty over the top with the programmed drums. Some pretty ridiculous "ride bell" sounds and some tasteful double bass patterns.
