I’m a total black funeral fanatic but this is nonsense. Ford had a very poor reputation among “serious occultists”. I think that just added to his appeal making him seem “rebellious” or something. You know, “no such thing as bad press”, etc.

Vampyric BM is just the lyrical theme, not even a sub-genre at all, just a made up word to look more evil.

I recall reading of Ford's involvement with the ONA or Temple ov Blood at some point in the early years. His notoriety came a few years later, and when he dropped all the ONA influence. I am probably wrong though.

He is or was recently working with that meth head EA Koetting that says it all. His music is still great though.

Sinister Order of Fenrir was National Socialist sect, started by Capricornus. SOF official journal Atheosophia was 100% NS ideology/propaganda. No "occultism" on those pages and yes Baron of Black Funeral did write articles for Atheosophia.

Laughing wut? I don't think BN has anything to do with vampires...

First thing I thought of.

And nothing in common with the other bands on the list.

Fair point, but I my defence I was really framing that within the BM underground as it was then i.e. filled with teenagers and very young adults. There wasn't many people taken seriously on these issues, but a few, like Ford were taken more seriously. At least from where I was sitting back then. Of course others may have an entirely different image of him from that period. Karl NE was and as far as I can see, still, a very serious and knowledgeable individual.

My memory on this is a little hazy but I had some old leaflets (A4's folded to 4 pages) where there was some esoterism ala The Black Order, definitely NS like you said. Time plays tricks on the mind and many things flow into each other so of course I may be mixing things up. The way I remember it there was a group of people who seemed to be more ideological than most and that included Baron, Karl NE, Capricornus, Hendrik M and a handful of others.

Such interesting and radical times

Terrible sub-genre that, hopefully, doesn't REALLY exist.

He will ofcourse deny it these days......but the hippy vlogger Greven used to call himself a vampire in his early interviews and letters.
He also drank blood from several girls....
This was not part of any RPG Cool

Early Black Funeral interviews etc were so heavily influenced by Burzum that you would have thought it was some U.S tribute act.

Vampires are part of the traditional BM lore since the beginning, so I neither understand the hate here nor the need for an own subgenre.
