I knew "Stained Class" would rank in pretty high, but I thought "British Steel" would dominate over it. I also thought "Sad Wings of Destiny" would get more hits too. Still early though.
I think my top 5 favorites in order are:
01. British Steel
02. Stained Class
03. Defenders of the Faith
04. Sad Wings of Destiny
05. Screaming for Vengeance
If you ask me in a few months, I'm sure the order would be slightly different.
"Painkiller" is certainly no piece of shit, but I don't get why a lot of people favor it over the earlier stuff. Maybe it's because it was a lot better than the two before it.. I remember seeing the video for the title track the night it debuted on Headbanger's Ball. I was 8 years old!
Angel of Retribution is killer too. The whole record is pretty much fucking great, except for that "Revolution" song, which surprise surprise, was the first single. |

PRIEST is one of my fucking favorite bands of all time, so it's impossible to choose a favorite album (hell, I even love Turbo!!). Any of the 70s albums would get my vote.
To be honest, I don't like British Steel (although some songs are pretty good), and I think Point Of Entry is waaaay better. |

| voted for "point of entry" just because i listened to it for the first time in a while the other day and was surprised by how good it was/is. "screaming for vengeance", on the other hand, despite it's most bitching cover art, left me cold today. |

I had to represent Rocka Rolla since no one else had! Come on guys, this album kills! Seriously, there's no way to choose one favorite Priest album. Maybe you could pick a favorite from each decade... _________________ "Great holes secretley are digged where earth's pores ought to suffice, and things have learnt to walk that ought to crawl..." |

yep the first four albums are metal perfection even with the gay riff on rocka rolla.
I voted for Sin After Sin _________________ Your opinion is as insignificant as your existence.

| I automatically default to Sad Wings Of Destiny, for me the greatest Priest album of any era!! I love pretty much everything up to around the Defenders Of The Faith era, although I have to say, and this always causes controversy, I hate Unleashed In The East!! It's just such an overrated album in the catalog, they butcher Tyrant by playing it was too fast, the studio overdubs (like all Halfords vocals) and trickery just ruin it for me. If I wanted a live Priest record, I put on the Live Vengeance '82 DVD |
