What was the Kalloharppu like? I remember that Ike Vil from Babylon Whores wrote something to it? He made his masters thesis about the devil/ satan in western history & culture. Essential reading for people in these circles...

She´s a Finnish singer. I have tried really hard to like also her music, but so far I have failed. Her name is Jenni Vartiainen

By the way: were there any good Estonian zines?

Kalloharppu was just like Isten..same juicy reviews and interviews, same choice of bands etc. Very enjoyable reading. There is also Darkthrone live review from Finnish gig May 1991.

Nordic Vision has come a long way from the early issues. Those were embarrassing, but the later ones were entertaining to read, altough leaning too much towards Norway/Satyricon. Now they are preparing a new issue. I always wondered who is the melakol x. I suspected that he is a member of some Norwegian band. I once called to the number mentioned in the contact details, thinking that he would answer the phone with his real name...unfortunately he answered saying just "yeah". Maybe I should quit my day job and become a detective hohohoo....

damn, who is this Avatar-girl of yours ??

Nordic Visions early releases were a pain in the ass in the review section. Always pushing their Norway releases and tearing apart stuff like Desaster... I hated these review sections. I always thought about the Satyricon guys (or people around Satyricon/Moonfog) behind Nordic Visions. But also have no idea who Melankol X really is/was.

Some nice sections and halfway decent interviews though. But these reviews aaarghhhhhhhh

as far as I know Melankol is related to Satyr. Hence the moonfog reacharound in all the old issues. that mag was total shit anyway. though the reviews were hilarious since the guy only gave good reviews to norwegian and sometimes swedish bands.

holocaust zine from poland should never be underestimated... 8 issues of totally underground content professionally printed with loads of symbolism and obscure bands from late 80s early 90s. Done by Tomasz , the owner of Pagan Records label. Kult.

I never held this Holocaust mag in my hands...I only know the name. Besides, I have Samael 1989 photo that has stamp on backside: Tomas Krajewski (Holocaust zine) Smile

Here's the scan of Holocaust Mag. Mine is issue 5 (from the early 90's)

Nordic Vision was really biased with non-Norwegian bands and it's true that most of the writers were people surrounding Satyr/Moonfog. Sad but true, but very few of those guys knew their shit. I doubt if most of them were seriously into Death Metal (for instance) after all...

They began to include more death metal bands in the latter issues, like HATE ETERNAL, VITAL REMAINS, PESSIMIST (sic for the third one).

Some of the interviews were interesting and well-thought but the reviews were shitty, that's right...

Remember Osmose's Hervé H intie ?! Classic one.
