"Finally! 18 month after the first recordings for the new album, Darkthrone is done. End of July will see the release of the new EP "NWOBHM" (New Wave Of Black Heavy Metal). This EP contains 4 songs on cd version, and two songs on the 7" vinyl version. There is one new exclusive song on both versions called "Hedninger Fra Helvete" (Heathens From Hell). The Testors cover song "Bad Attitude" is added on the cd version. CD contains in this order: "Wisdom Of The Dead" (a different recording than the version on the album), "Canadian Metal" (same recording as the album version, but different vocals added), "Hedninger Fra Helvete" (exclusive new song for this EP) and "Bad Attitude" (coversong of american Testors). Vinyl version contains "Hedninger Fra Helvete" and "Canadian Metal". The new album is called F.O.A.D. and will be released in September. Album contains 9 songs:

WHAT THE FUCK!! Gimme a fuckin' break! After coming up with all that crap the last couple of years, this is now REALLY getting annoying and downright pathetic! And don't respond something like:"Yeah, they're doing what they want to, and don't give a fuck!" Most probably, but do they have to release every fart they can think of and therefore spoil their legacy? They can as well form their own Punk band. Eventually there were more bad BATHORY albums out than great ones, to come up with another example of a once glorious band going down the line badly, but I think it never became THAT annoying, did it?

I've always felt Darkthrone was over rated. This kind of release though is to be expected, cosidering the path most scandanavian black metal 90's band have since taken Not 1 now worth a shit from the 90's boom

Actually I'm pretty surprised how approved their new stuff is, even by people who were around when their classic albums were released. To me there are LIGHTYEARS between albums like e. g. "The Cult Is Alive" and the (un)holy trinity of ABITNS, UAFM & TH. That's the thing that bothers me most actually, because to this day it's at times hard to swallow, that the dudes responsible for some of the most hostile and utterly brilliant (surely NOT overrated in my book!) releases EVER have turned into those "good-for-nothing" wanna-be punk rockers!

Cult Is Alive is a great release!!

I have a full original copy of the new record (along with the worst promo shirt). Much better than The Cult Is Alive (and I enjoyed that)- plenty more black metal riffing, but still keeping the crust punk edge. No lyrics in the booklet, just priceless Fenrizisms describing each song which to me is a better idea.
