Does everyone remember that show V from the early 80's. That always reminded me of that cover... or vice versa... _________________ Ashes to ashes

Finally got a copy of Long Live the Loud in the mail the other day. Those motherfuckers wrote some of the best speed metal songs ever. The whole album is one long fist-pumping, head-banging beast. "Beyond the Gates of Doom?" "I am the Beast?" "Long Live the Loud?" "Sudden Impact?" "Wake Up Screaming?" I don't think I could pick a favorite song off the album.
I will agree with what was mentioned above, their first three albums are absolutely essential speed/heavy metal masterpieces. |

Long Live the Loud it's my fave. Not much into the newer stuff, but i must recognize "Thrash Speed Burn" is a hell of a Heavy Speed Metal album as nobody are able to perform like nowadays! Great vocalist by the way. Real screamer!
The "Better Live than Dead" live album has a good selection of all time EXCITER classics! |

"Violence and Force" was one of the first more traditional heavy metal albums I got into so I have a real soft spot for Exciter. Someone gave me the album as a joke because the cover's so funny, I had no idea who the band was, but when I put it on it simply destroyed me! Fuckin' great album along with "HMM", I haven't heard the rest... |

I should dig up and play Heavy Metal Maniac, it's been years since I listened to it the last time. Killer band! _________________

Great to see people appreciating The Dark Command - I somehow feel it never got the recognition it deserves. Saw them live nearly two years ago and I felt like I was 18 again.
Title track just kills. Too bad they don't play that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyWbPWntPW4 |
