My vote is for the s/t album. I left out God Cries and On the Wings of Inferno because...well...I don't like them. I tried to include as much shit as I could because people always say "why didn't you include such and such, you FUCK?"
Ranking:
1.s/t
2. The Rack
3. Last One on Earth
4. Crush the Cenotaph
5. Embrace the Death
6. Death...the Brutal Way
7. demos. |

Wasn't there just an Asphyx poll a few months back? Anyway, Last One on Earth for me. |

By an extremely small margin, Crush the Cenotaph. _________________

Hard to tell, I'd say The Last One on Earth with The Rack not far behind. I think I should post a pic of my leather coat with the big leather patch on it sometime. |

Last One on Earth and Crush The Cenotaph is the best material me thinks. _________________ "If noise means uncomfortable sound. Then pop is noise to me" - Masami Akita. |

For the longest time I would laugh at the idea of anyone liking anything more than the first two LPs...for some reason though lately I cannot stop thinking the 3rd album is the real masterpiece...the production is so fucking razor sharp and heavy without losing any of that ol' beloved "stench of death," the composition and riffs are untouchably great, and the vocals just sound totally rabid and inhuman. |

Embrace the death. Simply the obscure atmosphere, the mad growls of Theo, and having alot of killer leads unlike on the other albums + it was theyre most occult twisted lyrical album as well. Il take Theo over Drunen anyday. Not to say Drunen is bad, because he isnt. But I felt they took a more straight road with him in the Line up.
If one compares songs that appear on several albums, I tend to prefere the early versions. For instance the killer version of streams of ancient wisdom on Embrace the death, compared to the more streamlined on last one on earth. _________________ Sack Of Maggots, Maggotsack, Hopeless Pile Of Hopeless Bones.. |

I find the discrepancy between the support of The Rack in the poll and the lack of support for it in the actual thread amusing. |

I noticed that too, it's peculiar.
To me, their stuff goes like this:
1. Last One on Earth
2. The Rack
3. Death... The Brutal Way
4. Embrace the Death
5. Demos/EPs
6. Rest of their albums
I really prefer Martin's vox in Asphyx to anything else. Never before have I heard a vocalist so fitting of a bands music. |

Is it only me that likes god cries? i mean, I love their early work of course but, even if some might say that it's not asphyx, I absolutely love the god cries album... cant stop headbanging to it! |
