Wow... never would've noticed. Still one of my favourite black metal releases! Some of the rehearsals have cool versions of the songs from the demo, too. |

Is this retiring offically stated somewhere? What a shame if it's true. |
I PM'd Vermin on FMP to ask if any new material was coming out soon. He said they had 5 tracks that'd probably never see the light of day because basically AoA was done. |
Wait. I thought that AoA was merely on hold. That is what I remember hearing at the Angelcorpse show. If they are truly dead... fuck. |

Liers In Wait
God Macabre
Uncanny
Necrovore (stating the obvious)
Miasma
Bestial Warlust
Depravity (Fin)
Demilich
Abhorer
...and yes, Gorguts are sorely missed (that Negative mini was awesome though, one has to see what will become of the band with a female singer now). |
In one way I know what you mean about BW, but on the other hand as it was starting to dissolve, Damon was out of the band and it was pretty much just Joe and Marcus. I think a revolving door of bass players and 2nd guitarists wouldn't have mattered too much, but the band sans Damon was a little uninspiring for me. I know there were problems there and that was considered the only way to manage it, but I guess it's one of those perception of band things...
I did hear Joe and Marcus rehearse for a bit around the start of '97. The stuff they were gonna record for 'Satan's Fist' sounded very much in the BW/Possessed vein as per 'Blood and Valour' but Joe's vox were very different to Damon's. Every year or two there is some renewed talk about the 3rd BW album... maybe it will materialise? I'm keen to hear it anyways.
Personally, 'Vengeance...' will always be the best in my book. _________________ Ashes to ashes

@ Blood and Thunder
I undersantd what yuo mean... it is just one of those bands of which I would have loved to hear a third album but sometimes it is just not meant to be.
I agree It would have been strange without Damons vocals.I nteresting bits about that rehearsed stuff... any chance of the ex-members to give it a shot and record what hasnīt been so far? _________________ A nobody in a world of somebodies.

What do you think of Cemetery Urn? I personally prefer Damon's and Andrew's work with Abominator , and Damon's work with Bestial Warlust and Corpse Molestation. _________________ Glorious Dawn Upon The Plateau Of Might Now Burns!!

None can replace BW in my opinion. Basically started the whole Aussie war metal scene. _________________ Looking for DEATH METAL bands!

I don't have contact with either Joe or Marcus these days, but every couple of years there is some talk that they will get together and record 'Satans Fist'. If I had to bet money, I'd say it will happen one day. It would be hard to leave something like that in the ether... _________________ Ashes to ashes

I haven't heard CU. I never really liked Abominator, but thought Corpse was killer and the first BW was a classic. 'Blood and Valour' is great, but different. _________________ Ashes to ashes

I think Corpse Molestation rule that throne. _________________ Ashes to ashes

Check out Cemetery Urn by all means - the emphasis lies on Death Metal more than usual War Metal, nevertheless they wipe the floor with most other bands easily.
Imagine "Realm of Chaos" aussiefied, hehe.
Similarly devastating as Encabulos who also played an updated version of Death Metal as it was created by early Bolt Thrower and Unleashed (to my deaf ears, that is). _________________ A nobody in a world of somebodies.
