I keep seeing people posting about releases being "OOP"... In the metal underground, when a release is pressed isn't out of print from the start? For example, lets say NWN! released a Proclamation album on vinyl only... He does 500 copies, once the vinyl limited to 500 is pressed, isnt it out of print?
Big labels such as Sony press thousands of copies of a same album every year, I think it makes more sense to use the term "OOP" once they stop doing those runs of copies every year. It seems as if OOP is a nice fancy keyword to use on ebay auction to boost the jewish prices |

It depends really. It's kind of like the bootleg/pirate copy argument... both are almost the same, but technically they're not.
OOP should mean there's no re-presses or plans of a re-press.
Limited presses should be OOP, but then I've seen limited presses being re-pressed like the PAGAN ALTAR - The Time Lord LP, calling it a "2nd edition limited press" _________________ http://store.shadowkingdomrecords.com/ |

| They probably use the term "OOP" loosely to be synonymous to "Not Available in Distros/Shops anymore". At least thats how I see it, heh. |
