im curious to see what peoples opinions are of this, with the kind of music that gets talked about here, "art museum level paintings" arent always necessary, or even appropriate for album art. but sometimes it seems like the images dont compliment the music at all. any examples come to mind? of corse theres no right or wrong, one mans shit, ect...
ps, i hereby declare all works by pushead a get out of jail free card, as far as this thread goes. just kidding, but i do worship his stuff for the most part... _________________ http://yersiniapestis.bigcartel.com

Not a specfific cover art, but Cryptia Records released great stuff on vinyl for the first time -like Mysticum or Nastrond- but all the layouts are just HORRIBLE. No wonder that e. g. Nastrond considers the release of Toteslaut a bootleg. I'm dying to have In the Streams... in a proper vinyl edition. Hopefully it will be done by an other label one day.
Moonfog's vinyl issue of Høstmørke looks like a better bootleg as well, all grainy. Can't get why they fucked it up that bad. Anyway, Mr. masters_throne is able to tell a thing or two about that shit. Would have been great if he had released that bad boy.
Re-releases in general seem to be susceptible to get messed up real bad. Just think of all the BoB crap or the recent Bathory PicLPs. Üäääääääärxz! |

RIOT's Fire Down Under is the ultimate example of this... of course, everybody's seen this album cover, but I just can't help but ask myself what the fuck they were thinking!

sorry tomas, but the quadrivium version of the first morbosidad album has got to be one of the most heinous abominations of cover art for an otherwise classic album.
