Anything before the Scion Era of Immolation is pretty good. _________________ DEATH METAL UNDERGROUND |

One of the very few bands with an almost perfect discography. I like all newer material quite a lot. Strangely enough I'd have to say that I like the earliest material (first couple LPs) the least of all (even though it's all great). I don't think the full blown Immolation sound has ever been more fully realized than on Close to a World Below. That album is fucking terrifying.
Anyway I basically cannot criticize Immolation much at all. Just an amazing band all around. |

All the love for Unholy Cult prompted me into giving it a listen. It doesn't have the immediacy of the first four but it's still very good. |

I voted Dawn of Possession as that is, indeed my favorite.
But I'd put it this way: DoP, HiA, and Close to a World... are the 3 head and shoulders above the rest. |

It was near impossible to pick from Dawn, Here, and Close, but Close to a World Below is one of the most pissed of records I've ever heard. Not to mention utterly crushing. _________________ http://www.discogs.com/seller/lord_pazzuzu/profile |

Forever 'Close to a World Below'! That album means everything to me. Would love to have that on LP.
I tried many many times, but can't get into 'Dawn.. ' Gave up on that.
'Here in After' & 'Failures for Gods' are 2nd best runner ups.
The rest are hit and run for me. _________________ Speeding Through Hell!

Only four for Failures For Gods? All the songs are awesome, and the really muddy production just enhances the songs. _________________ "Euphoria, shut the fuck up! The only album I really don't care much for is Harnessing Ruin. Everything else is pretty fucking awesome with Close to a World Below getting first and Unholy Cult a very close second. |

Current poll stats are very accurate! A small step toward redemption after that unfortunate "classic albums that suck" thread. |

Here In After is their artistic peak, but I voted Close To A World Below because it gets the most listens from me. _________________

True, although there's often a split between "sound" (aesthetic) and content. _________________ DEATH METAL UNDERGROUND |

I've sold the cd aeons ago so I'm streaming here in after now from youtube and you are right. few songs I've listened are good (even if I still prefer dawn of possession). I'm reconsidering my old opinion _________________
