Just out of curiosity, and as "Imperator" is now at our hands, I was trying to think of relatively long black metal albums out there. The first ones that come to my mind:
Deathspell Omega "Si Monumentum..." = 78 mins
Watain "Lawless Darkness" = 73 mins
Angantyr "Haevn" = 72 mins
Any thoughts on really long black metal albums? I really wouldn't start counting any drone filled albums in this instance or records with 20+ min pieces of silence as outros, but albums of actual black metal, in epic proportions, seventy minutes or so! Personally, I seem to notice quite a lot of classic material when it comes to these massive albums, though this doesn't hold in every case... |

Vinyl version of NIGHTBRINGER's Death and the Black Work is about 100 minutes long over three LPs.
