Depends on how you draw your definitions, but this is arguably the best UK power metal release. Great new edition with DVD. I have copies for sale, link in sig. _________________ Cheap thrills: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=114166081967523&1&index=0 |

Metal Archives says "Jon Brown" played drums on both this and Dominator.
Didn't realize this comes with a DVD , too... awesome ! |

Not sure, but the drums sound very static though.
I'm pretty sure Brown played on Dominator, with a acustic kit.
Both Dominator and A Sultan's Ransom are great albums. |

If there's one CLOVEN HOOF album with a drum machine then it's the "live" album Fighting Back _________________ Planet Earth is great to visit but you wouldn't want to live there |

Everything they released in the 80's i worth getting.
I recommend everyone getting a copy of The Opening Ritual release by BBTAD. I'm pretty sure these are almost sold out. |

The debut is definitely my favorite. Fighting Back is just terrible and sounds like a different band, but otherwise you can't really go wrong with their 80's stuff. _________________ Pray to the moon when it is round

I'll get some copies of the CD in about a month. It also comes with the DVD.
Debut I like a lot, but lacks focus. There's the Priest song, the AC/DC song, the Saxon song, etc. Good songs, cool atmosphere, but Sultan's is more consistent and honed-in. _________________ Cheap thrills: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=114166081967523&1&index=0 |

The debut is one of my favorite NWOBHM albums, and I like Dominator too but for some unknown reason I somehow have overlooked this album and never listened to it... until now. And have to say at first listen it's just as good as Dominator (or better?) and of course Russ North is a great vocalist! As for the drums to me it just sounds like a typical 80s production, nothing else. _________________ Planet Earth is great to visit but you wouldn't want to live there |
