Fuck, this reminds me of a Peter Steele interview I watched on YouTube once where he was going off on flabby metalheads with their tits hanging out. Maybe someone should make a thread about this (flabby metalheads with their tits hanging out, that is).

Hahaha, I'm guilty of doing the same. But usually these people crying about guys showing their muscles being gay are either puny runts or too embarrassingly out of shape to take their shirts off. |

Some fat kunt called me out for being narcissistic. Better to be in shape and able to actually perform a deadlift and squat than struggle to get out of a chair due to being horrificly obese.
Such is life...
Just got back from the gym funnily enough. Arkhon Infaustus on play the whole time. Good band. |

Gonna start the 5/3/1 program this upcoming week. It's funny how this thing starts out. You start with such low numbers (65%, 75%, 85% at 90% of your actual max) that it doesn't seem like it would work at first glance.
I did some research and there is definitely more to it than just the initial 5/3/1 part of it. The volume of actual reps is going to be pretty exhausting. Though, it seems like unless your technique just flat out sucks, it would be pretty hard to get hurt using this program. You work your way up to heavier weight. A program like this makes you fight against your instincts to just grab heavy weight and go. It makes you progressively stronger. |

If I didn't lift weights or do any exercise I would weigh 300 LBs from beer drinking. It's all about balance, haha.

I heard a great deal about the 5/3/1 and for some reason I always thought it to be a 'foreign' routine, as in not from the US. The reviews/stories I've read had some highly effective results. Will give this a shot when I complete my current program.
I'm a big fan of Mentzer's HIT routines. Anything HIT related has immense results, Dorian Yates is a prime example.
It's also a plus when trainers/bodybuilders are metal heads. Shame I didn't know about Barnett while I was at both of those MDF years.
