Agreed on all counts. Thing with the FB and forums etc is it just makes him look like a fucking spastic because it doesn't take a genius to join the few dots that he's littered all over the place. The moaning about the media yet doing countless interviews too. It's farcical.
He still makes intelligent and well articulated points, but the circus just takes away from it all. |
And don't you think for ONE MINUTE he doesn't purposely leave those dots unattended; this is how he gets to silently watch as we sit here and unfold his mysteries like fucking Columbo on the forums. He's too smart to allow for such pedestrian mistakes, yet too arrogant to come right out and enlighten us all. It's a catch-22 and he runs the show as long as people buy into it.

Agreed. The fact that the law is against defending yourself properly (by incapacitating the attacker) in a situation where someone is trying to harm you/kill you is ridiculous. Suddenly you're the assaulter and the criminal. |

Definitely not defending Varg's act as "self-defence". People just shouldn't have to be afraid of the legal consequences when defending themselves from assault anytime anywhere.
If a guy is swining a knife at me, i should have the right to brake his arm to defend myself without being the criminal in the situation. I'm not saying that in the situation you should have the right to kill the assaulter, you should just have the right to do what is necessary in stopping him from hurting you.

Problem is, Varg talks to the wrong audience by and large. His listeners do care about his music first and foremost, everything else is secondary if it matters at all. His interviews and his essays are interesting to read, yes of course; but just how many people do actually read through each and every of his blogs/essays/books? "The world according to Varg" is much less enthralling than (much of) his art/music, because he ain't original when it comes to the ideology/philosophy whereas his music was (remains to be, as far as his early records are concerned) original in each and every aspect.
So, he's now come to the point where he ought to decide what to do in future: Writing blogs and books, or writing songs and albums. I don't see how he can keep doing both; the people who feel intrigued by his world view are not so keen on listening to Black Metal whereas people listening to (Black) Metal do not care so much for "mundane politics" such as the "Marxist society of Norway", or whatever...

I just want a solid proof. If he seeks to remain anonymous, it will be hard to do so in France. More than 65 millions of people here, so automatically more people know him here than in Norway... Self-defence itself is not illegal, it's just too fine line between practicing self-defence and assaulting someone in a threatening situation. You easily become the wrongdoer yourself if you damage the assaulter too much no matter how bad the threat. You basically just have to avoid the threat and flee the situation.

I would even go so far if he walks my way once i wont recognize him. Imagine these recent Graveland style pics he did. A gray haired man with short hair (no better xpression in english, sorry) is not that outstanding.
At concerts it happens to me many times that i walk by people and suddenly a friend of mine says "Hey, this just was [insert musicians name here]" and i had no fucking clue when seing the person in real life.
