I noticed that post, but hoped that perhaps someone else had also had a camera there (and photographed the gig). Impatient I am, I know. I also forgot to edit the post to ask for photos from the Deathkult appearance. _________________ There is a country called Tír na N Óg, which means the Country of the Young, for age and death have not found it; neither tears and loud laughter have gone near it. | Would love to see them indoors in a small venue. Middle of the afternoon under a bright bastard sun at DK didn't help the atmosphere. |

It's co-released by a US label Daemon Worship, so naturally we will have it in stock. |
I didn't know that. Good news. Any plans about the release date? _________________ You have the right to remain stupid

As requested; my review which shall be online (in czech) at mortemzine.net in due time. You might find the text a bit clumsy but I didn't want to waste too much time polishing the translation.
Thanks to labels for giving me the opportunity to hear this incredible album!
.....
Four songs and over 40 minutes of terror. “Flesh Cathedral” presents a wide variety of rhythms and powerful riffage which shall entertain even the most demanding listener. Even though I fucking hate when every band which slightly experiments with disharmony is automatically compared to Deathspell Omega, this I time I cannot help myself. On the other hand if it makes you listen to the album, so be it. So if generalize “Flesh Cathedral” unreasonably, I will come to a conclusion that this album sounds like a slowed down version of “Fas ite maledicti in ignem Aeternum” played by mortals on mushrooms.
But while the music of aforementioned Deathspell Omega is quite hurry-scurry, Svartidaudi let their riffs breath. They give them enough space to develop and gain strength so they can get under your skin. “Flesh Cathedral” does not try hard to sound aggresive but the energy emanating from the music is unbelievable. Sometimes I feel like I want to scream because of the immensity of music. And to be honest It has been a long since I felt such an ecstasy when I dedicated first few hours to the “Flesh Cathedral”. The third or fourth listen of “Sterile Seeds” just brought me to my knees and left me devastated yet utterly fulfilled. And one more thing which might vouch for the quality of this album. When “Flesh Cathedral” ends I don’t know what to play next since I’m afraid that every other album will bore me.
The main aspect of this beast is a “mania” which cuts through the every second of the album. “Flesh Cathedral” is not such an “unearthly” album as it may seem yet the dread surrounding the music makes it special. And I am sure that Svartidaudi haven’t fulfilled their potential yet. “Flesh Cathedral” has shown really interesting and quite original sounding and I really hope that these Icelanders won’t stop at nothing so the next recordings will be truly nightmare put to music.
So to conclude it. Svartidaudi created great and addictive album. There is still place for improvement but I am sure that this recording will grasp your attention and both, you and me, will eagerly await the next opus. But to be honest there’s no hurry since for now I cannot get enough of this album! |
