Weird to compare adolescence in the 90's and the 00's
Hardly comparable
-MAYHEM DMDS
-EMPEROR "Anthems...
-AUTOPSY "Severed Survival
-DARKTHRONE "A Blaze... Still my favorite
-DARK FUNERAL "Secrets of the black arts
-CRADLE OF FILTH "Vempire
-V/A A TRIBUTE TO EURONYMOUS (Abruptum and Mysticum especially)
-MORBID ANGEL "Formulah Fatal...
-IMMOLATION "Unholy Cult
-CANNIBAL CORPSE "The Bleeding
-LIMBONIC ART "Moon in the Scorpio
And since adolescence starts at 13, a handful of corny shits:
-MACHINE HEAD "Burn my eyes"
-KORN st
-SLIPKNOT st
-SEPULTURA Roots
-Marilyn Manson Antichrist Superstar (still his best album)
I gotta say I'm quite impressed by dudes claiming they were listenning to AMEBIX, BLACK SAB, GBK and such when they were 13-14 _________________ DISJECTA MEMBRAE plays Torture Doom
FUNERALIUM plays Extreme Doom
ABJVRATION plays Death Doom

Hmmm...
Mine probably looks something like this:
Assuck - Anticapital
His Hero Is Gone - Monuments To Theives
Black Flag - My War
Spazz - La Revancha
DRI - Dealing With It
Celtic Frost - To Mega Therion
Metallica - Ride The Lighting
Misfits - Walk Among Us
Discharge - Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing
Bad Brains - S/T
But I'm allowing for some historical revisionism as I listen(ed) to a lot of other stuff - from 18-22 I listened to more soul than anything, etc... so this is probably a "best of" list....
Edit - of course Black Sabbath, Corrupted, Eyehategod, Darkthrone's Transylvanian Hunger, etc.... blah blah blah |

Luck of the draw, really. I walked into a record store in Santa Barbara, CA when I was 15 wearing a Venom shirt. The guy at the counter was a crust punk and said, "If you like Venom, you'll love Amebix!" He was partially right about the comparison, and I fell in love with Amebix. I wasn't cool enough to find them on my own _________________ Helcaraxë - Death Metal
