Never been. Only been to Montana on the motorcycle once. To Kalispell and back to safe and militant Canada where we murder fugitives and robbers with our Righteous and Proper Vigilant Law.
So the place is always like this and being robbed could have been expected then you are saying ? |

I assumed Baltimore's reputation preceded it. All you have to do is look at the "demographics" and "crime" sections on Wikipedia to put the (Lego) pieces together.  |

Don't know the actual numbers but Baltimore was the murder capital of USA for years. Also well known for its giant heroin market. I live in Richmond VA which is a pretty wretched city (also had the #1 murder rate at some point) and I lived in an area (Church hill) that is ranked "10th most violent neighborhood" in all of USA and with that said Baltimore makes me more uneasy than any other place I have ever been through.

@Doom-Mantia -- no worries. There were multiple people there who I knew and I was just too destroyed/dehydrated to even attempt being social.
Re: Baltimore. That place is fucking sketchy. It creeps me out even more than areas of the South Bronx and the shadier parts of Brooklyn. I mean, it obviously hasn't stopped me from going to MDF each year, but it's always something I factor into my plans. Tough to say if it was all over worse, but I noticed that there weren't as many people out cruising (cruising and crowded streets are good for cutting down on robberies, but bad because more fights break out between locals and metalheads) as there were in past years. Whether that's because of an uptick in crime, or the uptick in crime is due to the streets being deserted, I don't know. I will note that there were more visible cops this year than in past years, so who knows how shitty it would have been without them around.  |

Me and my friends must have gotten lucky but I've never had trouble in Bmore. We went to Chaps BBQ up north from Sonar (been on Man VS food, Food Network, etc) and it was even more of a run down area. the Inner Harbor is nice though
