Just recently picked up Hellfire and Funeral Bells as well as Rising from Below the Earth. I can't say enough good things about Faustcoven. Absolutely crushing riffs that harken back to the masters like Iommi and Chandler, but never skimping on the atmosphere. Dr. Karswell is probably my favorite track right now (Dr. Karswell, I CURSE YOU!) but I love some of their speedier stuff like Barbarian Assault (that intro...) as well. Also, a song about Aokigahara is incalculably bad ass. I had JUST read about that place before picking up the album.
I honestly figured I was the only one who still hadn't deciphered the clues in the booklet for Hellfire and Funeral Bells, I'm glad to see its giving other people fits. Not that I've actually put much effort in at all...its still such a great little addition help bring the packaging to life. |

Was "Hellfire And Funeral Bells" released on Barbarian Wrath before he closed his label? Or was this only released on NWN? There was a thread in a BW-forum, but I don't know if there was ever a promo-CD or a full pressing done by BW of this CD. |
I closed the label before that. Gunnar actually knew weeks before the official announcement because I wanted him to have time to find a new home in peace. |
Thanks for the info. _________________ Tradelist + Good Traders:

I see the question was resolved without my involvement. As said the nwn issue is the only one.

Thanks a lot! Great to hear that kind of feedback. I am a bit surprised that only one person has managed to crack the code so far, but I will probably not post any more hints. Quite cool if only a tiny minority will ever see the solution. So I leave it for the most dedicated and authistic to find. |

| Great review, thanks! There have been a few reviews lately it seems. End of year summaries/lists to blame I presume. |

I got the CD recently and something that stroke me was that some tracks have a heavy GBK vibe. Listen to "When the Wolves Howl For Blood" for example! It may be of course linked to common influences more than being a copycat, but it sounds great IMO. _________________ Scrutare et vide quia propheta a Galilaea non surgit! |
