I didn't even listen to Metal Black. Any band trying to emulate their past is gonna suck ass. It may sound obnoxious, but you're not the same person 25 years down the track and it's idiotic to try and recreate what you once were. There is so much that goes into the creation of music and being a parody of your younger self is NOT the key to success in my opinion. _________________ Ashes to ashes

NOW WE'RE TALKING!! Great thread aka anyone NOT obsessive with that album should be treated as JUDAS PRIEST's tattoo incarnation in the "Horrible Tattoo" thread!! Also have multiple copies of several VENOM albums.
"Welcome To Hell": some ultracrappy later day "Neat" pressing, "Earmark" reissue, as well as the initial pressing w/ lyric sheet and poster.
"Black Metal": initial pressing with lyric sheet and poster & "Earmark" reissue.
"At War With Satan": Canadian pressing with lyric sheet as well as printed innersleeve, which is nearly the same as the former + initial pressing with leather-marked sleeve, lyric sheet.
Also have several CD pressings of the above, my most treasured surely being the very first Japanese pressings of those!! "Here Lies VENOM" box set as well. I even dig most of "Possessed" a lot, although it's not completely on par with the first 3 albums and the singles up to '84!! Fuck me ... early VENOM rule supreme!!! _________________ "Slit my eyes, for they'll remember..." |

Welcome to Hell is the only mandatory Venom album, although the two albums after all have some really good songs. |

You are absolutely right!
Nobody into the Possessed lp? It is a killer one in my opinion. Raw as Hell but what a classic! |

I just have the US pressing, which I think is best because it has Bloodlust included on it. Making a killer classic record even better. It's one of my favorite songs of all-time and a great example that music CAN influence and drive people to kill and commit crime.
Also, next time a person wonder's why you think their/a band is a pile of shit, you can just send them this link..

As for Black Metal I have:
- original Neat, embossed black "Black Metal" w/poster and Lyric sheet
- Neat 2nd pressing, embossed silver "Black Metal" w/lyric sheet
- Original Neat Picture Disc
- Bernett (France)
- Combat (USA)
- Roadrunner (Nl)
- Base (Ita)
- Spanish press
- Earmark 180g
- Earmark Picture Disc
- the version in the "Here Lies Venom" boxset
more or less the same quantities of WtH and Possessed, something less of At War with Satan1 _________________ Into the Menstrual Night We Go-o, Hey-Ho, Hey-Ho...
