I really don't understand why people find Battlefields to be such an extraordinary album.
All three main tracks have too similar structure to each other (especially in the first minutes of each one of them as far as I can remember). Not that any of them was bad, but I never could listen entire album at one time just because of those similarities. Songs should be more different to each other.
Vocals also annoyed me ... same as at all other Hate Forest releases.
Otherwise, sound and short tracks between the longer ones really built great atmosphere.
Of all their records, I like Temple Forest/To Twillight Thickets CD compilation the most ... those ambient tracks are great. |

Purity, Battlefields and the 2nd Blood Of Kingu, I still play.
Drudkh bores me. |

I'm really curious about the next Drudkh as with the latest album they had very different vibe than before, but now they take those influences to another project with Neige and Drudkh should be returning into form of early material. |

Simple: The atmosphere that the album has. It gets you into a special dimension _________________

Yes you are right! Am i the only one who heard some MORBID ANGEL feelings (mostly "Domination") on this album? _________________ https://www.facebook.com/ysengrin.official |

Battlefields is fucking immense. Love the samples inbetween the tracks too. I remember finding the album they nicked them off ages ago, some field recordings of old Polyssan villages.
Sorrow and Scythia are great as well. |

Battlefields at least is fucked up with having something else on the disc than Hate Forest.
About Blood of Kingu. Northern Heritage still has copies of the De Occulta Philosophia LP but running low on it. So if still looking for it or having double thoughts, don't waste too much time. _________________ Heavy Metal Nuts

Hate Forest fucking rules. Scythia, Blood & Fire , The Most Ancient Ones, and Purity are my favourites. BOK never interested me that much. |

I have only listened to it a few times I don't think it is, it has normal vocals instead of the Tibetan chanting from the first album. |

Normal vocals? Boooooooooooo. Down with that sort of thing.
The Mongolian-shaman-peaking-on-'shrooms vocals were precisely what I liked about De Occulta Philosophia. |
