Well... now entering the last quarter of the year I gotta say it was pretty shitty compared to 2011 and 2010 when it comes to metal... just a bunch of outstanding albums but not even close to the last few years... _________________ Death Prevails https://deathprevails.bandcamp.com |

Yes it has definatley been the worst year for a long time in terms of great music. Really struggling to think of more than a handful of really worthwhile releases. _________________ TOTAL SUPPORT TO BLASPHEMOUS LUST |

I ordered a copy for myself - you've always had very good suggestions as far as music goes. |

Has anyone heard the Evoken album (Atra Mors)? How would you rank it compared to other albums released? I still need to hear it.
Edit: Oh, looking back in this thread, seems quite a few own it already. |

What do people think of the new Elysian Blaze? I've only listened to it once...but it's so long and dense that I feel like it deserves many more sessions to fully digest. It has potential to be amazing...very Rain Upon The Impure-ish. |

Overall its better than the first two albums in the semi loose trilogy... It combines the best elements from the previous albums and looses some of the more extraneous boring ambience, imo! BUT for some people regardless of how well this style is executed, will not have the patience to sit through this long of an album... Personally its something I enjoy and it is by far better than his first two albums! This is definitely one of my favorites of this year... I think it will hit a surge in popularity once it becomes more scarce... The presentation/packaging is excellent also! |
