I just found their "Solstice Sadness" 7" from 1993 and liked what I heard on it. How is the "Hymns to the Stone" album from 1994?

Yep, it's kinda in between. The music is still quite heavy but already leaning towards a more 70's oriented sound and by then, they had already dropped harsh vocals. I like it but I understand why some would qualify it 'stoner'...

From 1994 onwards, they were heavily influenced by Kyuss, Sleep etc. All the Death Doom stuff from their very early days went right out the rose-tinted window. I think they sounded much better post 1994 than in their weepy-hanky-doom phase to be honest.

The later releases which I do have are much different than this. The later releases changed vocal style to more a stoner sound.Good but not great.
