Finnish label BLOOD MUSIC will be releasing the debut album of IHSAHN "The Adversary" on vinyl for the first time in history. This deluxe, ultra-limited edition was fully remastered for vinyl and cut at 45-RPM on heavyweight vinyl in a triple-gatefold layout, designed by world-famous album artists TRINE + KIM. They will be limited to:
Color 180-gram: 100 copies USA/100 copies Rest of World
Black 180-gram: 50 copies USA/50 copies Rest of World
Pre-orders go live on November 6th at 5PM Finnish time (10AM NYC). The vinyl will be released approximately 3 weeks later.

Never understood that "minimum possible amount" issue. Is that so problematic to ask the supplier/printer to produce/ship you the amount you actually need when you pay for the minimum that can be made? Putting unwished extras on fire works fine too from my own experience.

Nope, this is the 4th time I've done it, and it hasn't been a problem. Might be a problem with your rep ... ? You can contact me more privately to discuss if you like !
As far as ordering minimums, my plant has minimums on certain requirements.
Colored vinyl has a minimum (250).
Jacket printing has a minimum (250).
I think they set these rules because the set up is otherwise not worth their while, but I've not had any restrictions on the triple-gatefolds. The only thing of course being that they cost a fortune, so good luck recouping too much at 300 copies if you want these in distro at all. You should be prepared to sell 200-250 minimum from your own store.

I was just curious. Yeah my rep quotes my minimum at 500, which is limited enough for me  .

Ihsahn is a little more popular than 300 copies isn't it?
Personally not a fan of the solo work so much other than the song that sounds like it could have been Emperor kindly placed near the middle or end of each solo album... but the prog metal styles and saxaphones and whatever other gibberish the man has taken to as art... not doing it for me.
Wish there would be more Emperor, or at least less happy sounding metal and more bleakish stuff or whatever. Prometheus was wicked, but the solo stuff, not entirely to my liking.  |

| This is the best number this project has nothing to do with Emperor and I think this is a license. A lot of labels have trouble to sell 500 copies in these days. |

Yes, of course this is a license (owned by Candlelight and Ihsahn's own Mnemosyne).
Have no idea how this will sell. Sure, it is not Emperor, but he does have a strong fanbase.
Cost on doing 200 more in triple gatefold/heavyweight/etc. is not insignificant as it is like doing 200 extra normal-weight single LPs.
Even if it sells quickly, not sure why creating a collector's item in this day and age is a swear word anyway.
I don't make anything by doing this way. I personally just want to own a copy of most stuff I'm releasing.
