I saw the release on Kreation's website a while ago, but I held back because it seemed odd that a mammoth album like this goes re-issued without any advertising. Specially from Patrick Walker.
What is even more amazing to me is that Kreation actually sent them some copies after they pressed it. Ha! That is crass.
It's just like a saying in my country: "You take a shit on someone's front door and then you knock and ask for toilet paper". _________________ http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Flight-Of-Sleipnir/267879219900772 |

| Curious to read Mr. Rich Walker version of this. Very weird indeed. |

This has actually been common practice since the 70's (at least, probably 40's / 50's but I haven't really looked at those decades that much), if anything it's rarer now than it used to be due to indie labels and easier DIY releases _________________ Ignivomous merch: abaddon_963[at]hotmail.com

It's pretty old news that Kreation records are both shit and a rip off. Shame Pat Walker got shafted by this, as said above, I'd be interested to hear Rich Walker's reaction to this. _________________

Unfortunate that people keep doing business with Kreation. _________________ "...that magnificent deer has vanished." |

| Hopefully this "incident" will transpire into in actual real release that will do it justice. WATCHING FROM A DISTANCE needs a proper VINYL REISSUE. |

This whole thing seems incredibly to me. If the Miskatonic guy is the other dudes cousin, this was never brought up at all before this week? I could have sworn I read about the reissue here on this board when the Evoken one was announced months ago. Maybe it's more the responsibility to of the label to keep the band in the loop?
If Kreation has licensed (paid?) the album, and sent artist copies I don't think this is as dire an offense as it seems. Maybe my opinion is wrong. But who knows? I know Kreation isn't exactly known for a quality job with their releases but it's not like this is a bootleg. _________________ http://www.last.fm/user/ngadke |

Here, as usual in such matter, the I'M WAITIN' FER MEYNACH OFFICIAL STATEMENT is de rigueur.
Well this is pretty much the same that happened with GROTESQUE. _________________ DISJECTA MEMBRAE plays Vomitive Doom

Not exactly the same as GROTESQUE as the CM LP was not official since from my understanding there was never a signed contract originally between band and Black Sun Records, so the licensing between Plastic Head and Century Media was not valid. What can you do though.

Typical Rich Walker.
No doubt he's on a messageboard somewhere blaming Patrick for all of this.
The guy loses more friends than I've had hot dinners. |

It's not totally clear in the note where the rights reside, but it sounded like this was a legit, official release.
But, I still think the band has every right to complain if they think the record didn't suit their vision.
Certainly bands are fucked around enough, but I personally feel that their work should be presented how they see fit (within reason). If a band received nothing but a handful of records about a deal, not even contact about it, and then feel that the final result is a piece of shit. They should let people know not to buy it and to wait until they're able to collaborate with someone who can do justice.
In my experience, for 90% of bands, the most important thing is just to have something they're proud of. _________________ motW/Lykathea Aflame/Sigh/Thy Catafalque/SYL available

HAHAHAHAHA!
I knew it! Making out he's so hard done by. 'I lost money on the original release' so that makes it ok! I hope Patrick gets an actual lawyer to look at any contract as Rich seems to think the issue is with Kreation when it lies at Miskatonics door. |

Even if Kreation has all the legal rights in order, doing this without talking to the band is still a dick move.
It really sucks that there could have been a really nice edition of this excellent album, with bonus tracks & proper packaging, and instead it's going to be a typical Kreation hack job. _________________
