Yeah, they had some presence in Seattle several years back and caused a lot of problems for a lot of people. One of them came up to me at a show when I was wearing a Burzum shirt and said "You sure do have a lot of balls to be wearing that." I had no idea why he would say that and said "Why is it different than any other band shirt?" He looked confused and walked away. Later I found out he was active with the FSU and understood. _________________ Slackmovies - My lame movie blog! |

Yeah, there was a group called FSU. But there were also a bunch of straight edge jumping's in Reno and in other parts of the US as well. You know, kids getting beat up for smoking or drinking. |

On my last trip to Germany I went painting with a few people who would write antifa as their crew or some stupid shit. I asked them about metal and they basically said something to the effect of all black metal bands that you don't see on tv are nazis. Many other things were said in German and I don't speak German but suffice to say they all hated black metal and I didn't mention my affinity for it. |
Don't forget all those people who huff Eric Wood's cock. _________________ my records

I didn't know that, actually. Learn something new everyday. |
Art should explore the unknown, feared, hoped, etc.
When it explores what "everybody agrees" is already too, it's not art, it's a circlewank.
This applies doubly to "retro" bands and hipster bands, both of which are jerking off the last twenty years in an attempt to create perpetual motion. |
If great art explores the unknown, what is there left for extreme metal to explore?
Do you think metal can still be feared? |

To be feared, in this society at least, all you need to do is bring up what is feared.
We have gone from a society that fears disease to one that fears insanity. It fears it is out of touch with reality, although it would never admit it.
It fears the emptiness of the soul, the pointlessness of its lives, and even the failure of its entertainment.
This place breathes fear.
Metal can very much be feared. It will have to drop the tropes of the past, or rather, upgrade them to their logical next stages.
I'm thinking of what John Milton did to the occult, or what William S. Burroughs did to systems theory.
Except it's not theory. It's application. Real life details in gnarly confrontations with that which hides under our politeness.
What we fear is empty spaces, and empty spaces are what we need to grow into. _________________ DEATH METAL UNDERGROUND |

all im saying is that these "antifa" people are going around and fucking up events and pissing off people who they see as the "enemy", "scum" and any number of terms that people here use to describe them (the "antifas"). all the 'extreme' metal people who are all up in arms do nothing except whinge about "censorship" (which is pretty ironic coming from someone who has a fascist outlook). this certainly isnt a call to arms or anything (im pretty much left of left of left, though obviously i think this "antifa" group is off it's rocker and COMPLETELY lost). merely pointing out that "antifa" seems to be actually doing things against people they see as the "enemy" whereas "extreme metal"'s (for lack of better word) actions are putting out "devastating" CDs that will "eradicate all scum in it's path" or some similar nonsense. _________________ format your doormat |

I don't have any particular opinion about this subject, but what pisses me off is...well, it's the same old story, people always going out of their way to point out flaws of others, finding things they dislike and putting their noses in what doesn't concern them. If humans would just mind their own fucking business we wouldn't be seeing all these stupid problems and conflicts, but we're curious creatures, I guess?
And also, if this is supposed to be extreme music, maybe it's time for some actions? If one of these antifa people confronts you, break their nose! And everyone can do this...let's see broken noses and bloody faces. _________________ "By all evidence we are in the world to do nothing."

I used to have a kid (Not really a kid, but not really a man either. He was around 30) who worked for me claiming he was antifa. I personally don't give a shit one way or another what he believed in as long as he worked hard. All i can say is that this was the lazyest sod I ever highered. He may have lasted a month or so on the job. He used to pretend he was French too. It's basicly how I feel about the entire "organization". _________________ Death over enslavement. |
