I actually did this once before with Grimalkin from this board and it went absolutely smooth. we were even going to do a second trade (oddly enough so I could get some double jack) but he kinda dropped off the face of the planet. ironically the package I sent him contained a bottle of breakfast stout as well. hahahaha! funny you mention it too, as its in season and available to us RIGHT NOW. PM if if you want to work something out sometime. I'm an all out IPA guy and not much of a stout man, but I definitely back the breakfast stout for what its worth. the Double Trouble Imperial IPA and Devil Dancer Triple IPA are great releases from Founders as well. good brewery!

USPS large flat rate boxes work great for this practice, you just cant be honest about the contents obviously. you can easily fit 2 bombers and 2 regular bottles into it though. flat rate works best as 4 bottles is pretty damn heavy/expensive to mail otherwise.

that is a pretty hilarious coincidence! To add to it, I love me a good IPA but really I'm a malt head so stouts are my go-to haha. But anyways yeah I would be seriously down to trade, I just gotta rack my brain for brews that don't get distro'd over here and narrow it down. I'm sure you've already got an idea on the west coast specials, and yes I can get Elder Pliny easily!

Yep. Just call it "marinade ingredients" or, if you're feeling cheeky, "live yeast culture."

I'll see double jack in shops around here occasionally. I'll send you one for a pliny.

sadly we dont get pliny here..... now I COULD obtain for you a bottle of Brew Kettle- White Rajah.... IMO this shit gives Pliny a run for its money and has WAY less hype as well. OH is seriously on the come up with some amazing breweries pumping out killer shit, especially Brew Kettle. Rajah is considered a west coast IPA (coming out of the midwest) and gives ALL true west coast IPA's I've had a run for their money. really better than most with Pliny being the only close contender in this category in my eyes. I know Rajah has recently got a best in show award @ one of these world beer fests if that says anything about its quality. Fat Heads is another OH brewery (b/w of Pittsburg originally) and has another fucking great IPA as well. supply vs. demand is so strong right now, we have problems getting them in the central OH area, and this is just coming from a couple hours NE

anyone ever use these sites? They work pretty well in conjunction with each other for the purposes of scoping out what you have, where to get it, and what to trade for:

http://www.seekabrew.com/distro/index.html
http://www.beermenus.com/

it looks like out midwest in terms of what I'm looking for, you guys got Goose Island, Founders, Smuttynose, and Southern Tier.

I can't recommend beer menus enough. It's responsible for helping me find some killer beers and some killer shops.

Goose Island is fairly unimpressive, or not one that should be sought too hard anyhow. A lot of smutty nose stuff I've had was not very impressive either. now Founders and Southern Tier on the other hand.... ST has a highly drinkable 2xIPA as well (and I have heard only good about all other brews as well) and I already pretty much stated my views on Founders. possibly the best MI brewery IMO

3 Floyds stuff is pretty good, but also pretty damn expensive. The arctic panzer wolfs were $12 a piece if I am not mistaken... the resin drip ones seem to run closer to 15-16 if I recall correct (barley wine anyhow)

this is all just my two cents though

We get Southern Tier in Australia at specialty stores - is it hard to get in LA? If so, the distribution channels must be a bit funny. I'm farewelling the weekend with a couple of Sierra Nevada PAs and Omen's "Battle Cry".
