Well since someone has put NEGATIVE PLANE in this thread (how death metal are they really?!) while someone else discarded TEITANBLOOD as being Death Metal I guess anything's possible.
For instance I can't consider DIOCLETIAN as Death Metal... I wonder how they would label themselves |
I'd say Negative Plane has a very classic death metal sound at times.

Tried to narrow it down to 10. Didn't have much luck, even when eliminating demos (Drowned) & album-length EPs (Grave Miasma). Here's my list of 15 in alphabetical order.

I think Gore Blessed To The Worms and the split got the job done though. Still better than most in the genre.
Dig any of Antimo's other bands? I've recently managed to pick up the Blood Reaping CD's at last.

The Hellvetron debut and the latest Karnarium need to be mentioned here. Great releases. The Hellvetron, particularly, is incredible. Ritualistic and transcendental doom death from the depths.
