Trench Hell is really good. Southern Cross Ripper was a monster of an EP. |

true! that, and the secret - solve at coagula. i'd also throw the AMAZING german band planks on the list. |
Saw them all live, none of these bands qualifies as black metal in my humble opinion, but it's good stuff nonetheless.
Converge plays with the Secret live in my town next week, but I'm gonna save my 20 bucks, get some booze instead & listen to some real black metal punk... like Odelegger, Acursed &

I cannot understand the derision Ødelegger receives (perhaps it's the direct connection to Bilskirnir), it's the quintessential Ildjarn clone and it certainly amplifies Ildjarn's punk elements. |

Odelegger needs to get praised for being the quintessential Ildjarn clone that certainly amplifies Ildjarn's punk elements. _________________ What beats global warming? nuclear winter |

I haven't read the entire thread but saw that post when I opened it and these bands are just lounge crust countries like Sweden (and Spain maybe) tend to produce in masses. I'm not too into Martyrdöd but I LOVE Acursed's first LP, which is an absolutely underrated rager imho.
Besides that, I love black metal, I love punk, I love Ildjarn too, but "black metal/punk" is the worst kind of metal to my ears. Truly atrocious. And Ildjarn clones hardly ever pull it off imho. |

Yes, there are too many crust bands, but Martydöd is the icing on the cake.
This seems to be mandatory for the thread starter:

There used to be a lot of this kinda stuff around here but nowadays no one really likes to incorporate the style for fear of being regarded as sympathetic towards the racist undertones of the genre....whatever. Some other bands from the past ten years or so, don't know if they have sites though:
Graft
Ygramul
Corporeal
Volvagia
Bloodthrone
Xeper
Staurophobia
Eko
Malbolgia |

If we're going down that way, I can think of many bands playing that style that Ifind much better than Martyrdöd but... to each their own I guess |

That's how it is. Saw them live a while ago, got hammered, instantly liked their tunes and show. And the records are fine too. _________________ What beats global warming? nuclear winter |

limb from limb
hot graves
nekrofilth
and gospel of the horns - call to arms LP has always sounded pretty punk to me. _________________ http://antisocialevolution.altervista.org |
