Miasma - Changes
Accidental Suicide - Deceased
Infected Virulence - Music of Melkor
Darkified - Sleep Forever
Electrocution - Inside the Unreal
these all come to mind, though some of these have probably gotten a bit more "exposure" in recent years with the rising trend of ''old school death metal'' and everything being labeled a "forgotten classic" |
Most of those releases are well known and have been for as long as I can remember. |

Lost Soul - Scream of the Mourning Star
as well as the Now is Forever EP that it followed.
Amazing fucking death metal... started listening to the album when it first came out 12 years ago, was one of my favorite bands and no one else knew who they were. Their newest album is total garbage though. _________________ http://antisocialevolution.altervista.org |

Both albums by Deathwish, "At the Edge of Damnation" and "Demon Preacher", a splendid British thrash metal (with plentiful elements from speed, heavy and even doom metal) band from the late eighties. Allegedly, Dimmu Borgir, well, "stole" the cover artwork of "Demon Preacher" for some of their merchandising?
Whatever, it's great metal, astonishingly obscure for its undeniable quality (and Lemmy endorsement, too). |

It's one of my very favorite DM albums. Glad it finally got reissued, even though I owned an original already - it's one of the few albums I felt like it would be cool to own both versions even though the content is exactly the same, give or take a little audio cleaning. Do wish they'd added some bonus stuff though - the band's subsequent 7" "Water Mirror" is interesting (very Atheist-like), and I would like to hear their demos or whatever they were up to before the full-length.
Also, this thread title is funny. Reminds me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQzVpZIiyt4 _________________ http://unspeakableaxerecords.com |

They didn't get beyond the demo status unfortunately, but both "Twilight Serenades" and "Lamentations" have aged extremely well for me with their well-arranged, skillfully played as well as heavily crushing tunes. Both bands are definitely of the kind I've always wondered what they would have developed on further releases. |
Both of these suggestions sound like the kind of music I'd be into, no doubt.
Another Spanish death side that seems to be lost in time is Feretrum. Never heard their music, but what some folks have described seems to be very good. |

I just listened to Demon Preacher. Good shit.
There is a pic with Lemmy wearing a Deathwish shirt. It would be cool if Lemmy dug 'em but chances are he just had the shirt because they were on the same label at the time. Who the fuck knows though? |

I love that art but always thought the music was pretty mediocre, and the spoken word bits are just stupid. _________________ http://unspeakableaxerecords.com |
