The Czech government should be commended for taking such a hardline stance against false metal. |

The icelandic band Atrum polling their fans what they should do musically and so on:
| Quote: | Listen to "Opus Victum" here, for free. But as you do, here are a few short questions, and we'd appreciate your thoughts:
Would you buy Opus Victum if we release it physically?
Do you have an Atrum T-shirt? if so would you like a new design? if not, do you want one?
And one for curiosities sake: If you have listened to Opus Victum, what's your stance on ATRUMs usage of classical instruments and choral vocals? |

I've only read through the first couple pages, and so far this is the most entertaining thread I've seen on here so far! Priceless, I still can't get over "creator is spelled with a c, not a k" hahaha!
Here's an idiotic qoute I remember from a recent thread on here...

Well this kyuss band is on metal-archives http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Kyuss/398
But listening to a couple of their songs on youtube just now, I think it would probably be because they don't even sound anything like sabbath. However I guess the archives consider it "metal", however I wouldnt call it metal though. _________________ "We must secure the extinction of the human race and apocalyptic future for all children" - 14 words. |

This still going... First Sabbath ain't metal besides the first song, but the host of a disease doesn't get affected by it, still he spreads it around everywhere like a cute little AIDS monkey. _________________ Geißel des Fleisches - Bis aufs Blut gequält |

Obviously. Thank you for pointing out the obvious. Black Sabbath was a big inspiration, but the aesthetic of their early years is nothing like 80's metal. The Stooges are not considered as a punk rock band either, but they belong in the exact same category. _________________ Sic transit gloria mundi |

Also... the inlay notes to the paranoid album state that they consider themselves "heavy metal". The way they stated it though would lead one to believe that they were the first ones to use the term to fit a musical genre, can't say for sure that they were, but it would certainly make sense if it were so. _________________ "We must secure the extinction of the human race and apocalyptic future for all children" - 14 words. |

Then Running Wild is black metal too. Point taken, thank you for changing the history of metal music. _________________ Sic transit gloria mundi |

Hell I'd go as far as saying music machine's talk talk song from 1966 was the first punk song, so obviously I consider Iggy punk, most definitely. You just can't get anymore punk then search and destroy! But that's beside the point... yes alot of 70's psyche-rock bands who were not metal, were also highly influenced by sabbath, same way hardcore punk bands influenced thrash. But I just don't know who in their right mind could listen to the self-titled black sabbath song, or iron man, war pigs, hand of doom and say "well... that's not metal". _________________ "We must secure the extinction of the human race and apocalyptic future for all children" - 14 words.
