Watched Killer Joe recently, was actually awesome. From William Friedkin, director of The Exorcist, and starring Matthew McConaughey. _________________ Good sellers/traders: metalmac, greenmonster, Transcendence, GoldenBull, Paria

Suffers from 'Australian-indie-film' syndrome as well with lots of meandering shots of nothing in particular in an attempt to be 'arty'.
Give me 'Blue Murder' for a depiction of Aussie crime. |
I'm going to respectfully agree to disagree with you on this, I thought it was excellent. The family is based heavily on the Pettingill family, especially the scene where they bait and kill the cops is almost a direct re-enactment of the Walsh Street police shootings. _________________ Ignivomous merch: abaddon_963[at]hotmail.com

Pure vile material intended to shock but still not as good or holds
a candle to A SERBIAN FILM. |
I've never watched one of his movies and frankly from the clips I've seen I have no interest. Not in a sense that it's too extreme or anything it just seems a little silly and tedious. As in instead of actually creating a compelling story or characters you just use vomiting as your only plot device. At least that's the general feel I've gotten.
I liked A Serbian Film but didn't find it nearly as disturbing as it was hyped to be. Outside of the final reveal and maybe one small part before that it was pretty tame. The end is so over the top that it's hard to have any sort of emotional connection and it becomes comical. I remember laughing out loud hysterically. |

Serbian Film is overhyped crap. Definitely did not live up to it's crazy hype. _________________

I enjoyed A Serbian Film, thought it had a theme of black humour running throughout the plot and was leagues above the 'gross-out' Saw-type films.
Watched Mean Streets today. |

8MM was a great movie. Underrated in my opinion.

| 8MM was a total ripoff of Hardcore, more explicit but lacking the intensity of George C. Scott. |
