For me, it's the best DT release since 'Panzerfaust' - but I think their new style has progressively weakened with each release since 'The Cult is Alive'. It's time for some new ideas again. |

+1 on both. I did enjoy the previous album better and I think Hiking Metal Punks easily stands among the best heavy metal songs written in the 00's. That update on long tracks is making me feel a bit hopeful. _________________ Sic transit gloria mundi |

I like all Darkthrone eras but the newer punker albums I like a bit less. "Hate Them" is one of my favourite Darkthrone albums. |

Hate Them & The Cult Is Alive were awesome, let's hope the garage heavy metal is buried now. _________________ there's enough negativity in this world already |

"Hate Them" was really good indeed, so were "Ravishing Grimness" and "The Cult Is Alive". |

I never unterstood all the hate for Plaguewielder, it's a catchy as fuck record, I can sing along to almost the whole album. _________________ there's enough negativity in this world already

I just read that the record may only have 6 tracks that are very long...
total opposite of the last several records, no?

Sounds promising. _________________ Barghest - Label & Distro

It does. I'm not into the punkish darkthrone stuff at all, but a bit like Metallica, their early stuff is so great that I've not written them off and I'll always check out a new record in the hopes that they'll pull another great album out of their sleeves. Doesn't have to go back to the old style at all, just something good |

Problem is there are like 8 other DT records that are better and don't have the annoyingly well-wrought production.
New album comes with a seriously brilliant title, but who didn't give up on post-2005 Darkthrone long ago? |

Excluding the debut, from 'Panzerfaust' to 'Sardonic Wrath' is my favourite Darkthrone era, sp. 'Ravishing Grimness'.
From 'The cult...' on they mean nothing to me. _________________ Good deals: Orionized, DEVORADOR DE PLAGAS, Atom Smasher, locustfurnace, KALITAS, cursed blood, SARCASTIC, bloodritual... |

Absolutely amazing and evocative of epic third league 80s HM private press albumcovers. I expect total Manilla Road worship. Great cover and totally unexpected direction as judging by (great) title's electric implications I imagined something more Exciter'sque - amps etc.
Cant fucking wait. Everyone who says Circle the Wagons is shit is just plain deaf and dumb and leave the hall. |
