Believe it or not, "Det Glemte Riket", "Svartalvheim" and "Trolltaar" are Norwegian BM at its very finest. If you like early Dimmu Borgir, this is for you. |
I'll pull Svartalvheim and Det Glemte Riket down from the shelf and give them a spin later. _________________ http://www.dissectionforum.dk/ |

Still fucking applies. Had one in my teenage bedroom AND has one in the current rehearsal place. You can't beat the feeling. |

I had almost forgotten how hilariously bad that shit was. The DTL of the '90ies.

| I'm pretty sure I've never listened to anything from this "3rd wave" of black metal. Or maybe very little. |

I guess A. remains under his daddy's thumb, but Nargaroth is busy again, I'll see legendary K. at the In Flammen festival next year (http://www.in-flammen.com/?page_id=2)...this will be fun. _________________ Geißel des Fleisches - Bis aufs Blut gequält |

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Grand Belial's Key's Mocking The Philanthropist yet. It does, despite it's racist edge and original aesthetic, belong to this era. Especially musically with it's Heavy Metal influence in the riffing and keyboard interludes. It's musically pretty close to Ancient's Mad Grandiose Bloodfiends, though it avoids a few of it's pitfalls. _________________ http://www.dissectionforum.dk/ |

Well that's one of my favorite albums ever. I just don't know what this "3rd wave" is. |
