At home, mostly with computer through couple stereo speakers, either CDs or mp3. Also vinyls with own player and good pair of speakers. No headphones, ever.

Never listen anything with mp3 players or such when outside unless i'm driving a car. Actually i've found that to be most practical place to get deep into music. Only place where so called maximum volume is possible.

Very rarely today i listen albums without doing anything, actually i've found it easier to concentrace in music that way. I get sleepy everytime when trying to just sit down and fuss with cd/lp jackets, no matter how good the music is. Long are gone the sessions from childhood when you listened those few monthly cd's till blood came dripping from ears.

I ripped everything to .flac (which was a pain in the ass) and listen to the music over the boxes of my stereo system.
Seldom not often i put on some records for nostalgic reasons and of course i listen to mp3s in my car, or an mp3 player when walking (also often in the nature).

Why i do so? Well, the music i have was fucking expensive to get and if i burn it to CDRs it does not matter if they get scratched, lost or whatever. Also i like the option of having my music with me wherever i may roam.

Like most others, headphones for mp3's to/fro work, on walks, at work computer, etc. Cars/drives are great too, thankfully I don't need one to commute, but I was recently pretty happy about a 5 hour drive just to listen to music.

Best is record player/good cd player in my living room with some beer/coffee. I find time to do this for maybe 3-8 albums a week, but it is cherished time.

I mainly listen to music on my Sony CD walkman the CD player is banged up pretty bad, but still going. I also listen to music on my computer with headphones.
