Never been wild about that LP but that is an interesting point and I hypothetically agree. _________________ https://professorblack.bandcamp.com |

Flawless band that's grown to be one of my favorites over the last few years. The only album that hasn't really stuck with me is Supernatural Addiction for some unexplainable reason. Great album, enjoyable to listen to when I do, but entirely forgettable right after for me. I can't really explain it. Every other album has some riff, lead or lyrics that I end up humming to myself later on. _________________ https://www.facebook.com/sethbennettillustration - Artwork and graphic design |

Awesome band. I wonder when King is going to stop making all the young kids look bad with his boundless energy and enthusiasm. Hopefully not anytime soon. _________________

Saw them in 2005 when they were touring behind As The Weird Travel On. It was in Pittsburgh at the Brave New World record store. Of course, they were incredible. |

Haha! Great to see this photo! I'm pretty sure I took this picture at Jim Hunter's place in summer of 1998!
Interestingly, and I think I've mentioned this in other threads about this band, but having grown up in the same neighborhood as King and the band and known them forever... I have to admit that at the time when they first came out I couldn't really hang with Deceased. I remember this guy at a record store called Record Convergence in Falls Church had a copy of the "Evil Side of Religion" demo somebody had just left there (probably King!) and he just gave it to me. I took it home and tried to listen to it, but my 11 or 12 year old mind couldn't process that sort of primal metallic mayhem at the time!
A few years later in 1987 when I was probably a freshman in high school, I remember lying in bed one night and hearing the helicopters coming over my parents house and wondering what the fuck was going on. The next day when I was walking to school there was a 'body line' on the road outside the entrance to my high school, somebody had been killed there. After getting to school I heard in the hallways that it was the band Deceased had been in a car wreck there... and later found out that the bass player Rob had been killed and that was his body outline on the road. I also remember there was a laminated Motorhead sign that somebody put on the light post near there a few days later as a memorial.
So, though they were one of the 'local metal bands' I didn't really get into Deceased until later, and not until I actually became friends with King in the mid 90's. At that point I gave them 'another chance' and listened to them, they'd come a long way since '85 or whatever! Haha! So we became friends, I ended up hanging out/going on the road/seeing a ton of live gigs with them until I moved to NYC in 1997, but King and I kept in touch and are still great friends. I've even released a few Deceased records on my label!
That was a long tale, and maybe one I've told before so I apologize if it's a rerun, but yeah, I guess the 'bottom line' is: DECEASED rules! |

Luck of the Corpse does it for me. Demos are killer stuff as well.
Let's not also forget that Doomstone rules as well. _________________ Heavy Metal Nuts
