This felt like a 2 hour anti-drug ad add to me. I thought it was too preachy (and I don't even do drugs), and Aronofsky's visual tricks worked better in Pi. |
That was probably the result of the author's longtime addiction to heroin after spending all the money from his first novel on smack over a number of years. The drug parts weren't what was disturbing to me but rather the "treatment" of Ellen Burstyn's character at the hospital and her friends coming to visit her there. So freaking tragic. The novel covers one of the shock treatment sessions in a two page paragraph with no punctuation. I had to put the book down for a while after that part. |
I actually think the mother bits were the only good thing in the movie and I wish that would've been the main focus of it. I couldn't give less of a shit about the other characters, nor the way Aronofsky showed their lives, but the old lady parts were pretty well done and engaging. |

Although Rose McGowan is surely hot and no one here would say "No" to her, I would never ever rank her in the same league as the two goddesses mentioned in the first post.
McGowan is more on the same level as Asia Argento. |

She is not in the same league granted but it would make one hell of an interesting 3some don't you think? |

some time ago I saw the film "Drive" and thought it was the best film I've seen in awhile, and frankly I don't watch many movies.
also finally saw "There will be blood", thought it was good but would've enjoyed it alot more if I had seenn it alone and missed few scenes due to recording problem with a digibox |

Yes, "Drive" is a great film. Love the brooding atmosphere and deliberate pacing. It makes the impact of the violent scenes so much more intense.
There Will Be Blood is of course a total classic. I can watch that film over and over...

This. When I first saw the movie I was completely overwhelmed. Daniel Day-Lewis role is amazing. _________________ Ides sofrer como cães!

| Drive was great. It's the perfect example of why I can't stand Tarantino anymore. |

It somehow got better upon second viewing as well. I found that happened with No Country For Old Men too. _________________ "If noise means uncomfortable sound. Then pop is noise to me" - Masami Akita. |
