As a descriptor, absolutely. Maybe some Return to Forever/Allan Holdsworth comparables but very little to do with jazz music....

However, whatever you want to call it, this tech/prog/wank stuff fucking rules.... Twisted Evil

I shiver when read Return to Forever here, where stupid albums like ITP or TSoP are protagonists.
Very predictably, he called me "poor retarded jerk". Laughing
But the truth is, most people who want to portray metal as a "mature" kind of music are deluded losers.

Haha definitely a 'to each their own' here. Personally I love that fusion-y fruity bs but I full well know most don't.

It's fairly easy to spot them at least. Gotta love how they always seem to use words/expressions obviously learnt from that book ("life metal", "it's more than just music" etc).

People featured in "that book" knew what metal meant.

Ex: Cult NSBM crew with a Carcass T-shirt (clearly valuing music over ideology here I guess).

I have always enjoyed all of Death's output, with Spiritual Healing being my least favorable. I chose Human which is probably my favorite from the band.

They were young, they know better now. A 37yo releasing DTL albums while babbling about black metal being a way of life is clearly a very clever and grown up individual.

Human for me. Though I don't listen to Death's post-Spiritual Healing very often.
