Amazed Legend hasn't been mentioned as of yet. Absolutely one of my favorites from the NWOBHM movement. That self-titled debut is a classic. White Spirit is another one that deserves some more attention.

Priest started heavy metal image (black leather and studs) at the same time NWOBHM was rising. So no wonder some people get confused that Priest was one of them. |

Judas Priest or Motörhead are neither NWOBHM. They started earlier.
NWOBHM started somewhere in '79 and was a wave, not a genre.
A killer wave though. Favorites being Iron Maiden (my favorite band overall), Hell, Tokyo Blade, Virtue, Cloven Hoof, Tank, Grim Reaper, Witchfinder General, Witchfynde, Satan, and well a lot of more good bands but I'll stick with listing 10 of the best. Then there are some that only made a single good album but then went boring and or too generic.
Too bad 90% of these bands failed their comeback with horrible shit. At least Hell did it the right way, as well as Angel Witch was pretty ok and Iron Maiden hasn't done a single bad album in my ears. But go listen some new Cloven Hoof and it makes me wanna kill myself, how can such a jewel like "A Sultan's Ransom" be from the same band that it is now.
