I just found remastered versions of the three tracks on the original version of Black Witchery's 1998 (1997?) demo "Evil Shall Prevail" on youtube. I haven't heard anything about this being released, so now I'm wondering if anyone knows whether this remastered version of the demo has been officially released? In that case I've got to get my hands on a copy cause it sounds FUCKING AWESOME! Some info on this please!

That one sounds more like the 7" version. But why the vocals sound so strange? Or is it just the youtube shittyness?

The vocals are actually what I like most about these versions, but also what made me very uncertain as to whether this is a remaster or a re-recording...?

I did the remaster. I have other rare B.W. in my collection too...just been ripping old things and restoring to digital library with some balancing/leveling.
I sent the tracks to Impurath, he likes them. Whether the band will do anything with them is up to them. Interesting thing, the vocalist for these sessions is Shroud, who only performed on this version of them demo, the first version...
There is another version of "Dominion Of Everlasting Darkness", which has very harsh sound and Shroud on vocals. Also, the "Death to Trends" promo from WITCHERY is in there as well. There's the A side to the "Desecration..." vinyl which I do believe has different mix than the CD version. |
