Absolutely disagree about Bolzer. they are fantastic, the demo has been played to death (pun) since I got it. I know each song inside out at this stage which is rare enough for music so extreme. Their riffs just exude class and identity.
Then again, it either works for you or not, same as anything else. I think the Deathcult stuff is very ordinary, though. Does nothing for me.

I'm inclined to agree with you. Really nothing that special about this band. Like you say, it's not bad at all, but the hype this is receiving here is unjustified IMO. |

I can hear "Zeus - Seducer of Hearts" and especially "Entranced by the Wolfshook" in my head, and every time it makes me want to run to put it on the stereo, too. Unique riffing, memorable songwriting, a great performance (the vocals and guitar sound are perfect) and some interesting lyrics... what's not to like?
Hype or anti-hype, doesn't matter to me... this band is exactly what I'm looking for.

That's ridiculous. This band has a unique, dynamic, violent sound unlike anyone else.

I'll admit that some of their riffs are 'different' - but unique does not necessarily mean good. Just my opinion. Like I said, the band is OK - just nothing more. |
