Is that so? I have my doubts. "Soulside Journey" was the least "revered" album of Darkthrone during their Black Metal-era, because: It was not Black Metal to begin with, no matter how good was their Death Metal on this album technically as well as musically.
If you ask people who are into Black Metal, be it on this forum or elsewhere, about albums they deem to be the "epitome" of Black Metal, then many of them will rank "Transilvanian Hunger" among the top ones that come to their mind. An album that's so stripped off any "musicianship" it borders on sonic noise (and that's what it is to anyone who's not into Black Metal, mind you), but still - it's one of the classics of the genre, and one with the most lasting impact on Black Metal ever.
That being said, only a moron can question there's more to Black Metal records, be them the "classics" or the "clones", than music.

Now THAT made me LOLZ, as they used to say on FMP-board back in the days. |
This NK7 quote is definitely the gem of the thread... priceless. _________________

| Musical wankery doesn't mean you can write a good song. Most bands I like actually got worse the better the musicians they became. |

DTL only works if you've been into BM metal for like the past 3 years, then it's looks to those newcomers that DTL have achieved true cult and are worthy of fanboy worship. This is just reality.
I never got DTL...............always played out like bad Black Legions parody, I don't wanna really get into it.........but the raw and cold Black Metal that they wish they could play is executed very well on VEMOD (Norway) "Kringom Fjell Og Skog". |

^^ at first i thought, there we go someone attempting to be objective/serious, then one click on your link and it's yet another FMP enemy, what was your name there again? I remember people calling you Nathan Ki-Ke as your last name was Kite and you had youtube clips of you smoking bongs and attempting to be some kind of pseudo professional producer/mixer but you had no idea and you did some awful vocals for a band with a black gothic guy in it or something.
edit: just remembered your user name was "the many" on FMP.
Another useless troll trying to reinvent themselves.

You might as well just post this in every thread. I will give respect for the guys collection, but he seriously regurgitates the same thoughts/ideas over and over.
