In the Nightside Eclipse always had a timeless sort of sound to it. I don't think there's another album that sounds quite the same. It sounds a bit dated production-wise to me, but regardless I think it's definitely stood the test of time. |
Old Man's Child "Born of the flickering" is another example. I know that not too many people like this band but the demo and debut LP are great. "BOTF" will always be timeless. I like it much better than "ITNE". Too bad they took a different approach after that album. _________________

I'm curious about the third part hehe. |
part three should be about "altars of madness" or "DMDS". would be curious to see people's opinions on these ...
|
Surely those are pretty much timeless in most people's book? |
Of course, both those albums were very ahead of their time and still sound fresh. Herr ADK might consider Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism for the third installment, that's one album that shows bad signs of ageing. |
oh, I perceived this thread as an "analysis" of a classic album against the background of its scene impact, sound quality, influence on other bands etc.
This said, does AoM sound really fresh? Nothing to discuss here, but if anyone's interested, ... |
