Check out the bio from 1989. This is from around the time of the first demo.

Looks like page from very old zine...
Anyway i didnt said i dont believe it, i just got kinda curious how famous was Fear of the god and expecially Hellhouse(i guess them are pretty obscure stuff with one short demo) in Brazil...
At other hand i know guys who discovered stuff like Anal Cunt and Fear of the God somewhere in 89-92 ... so why not |

a long time ago when people wrote letters and read zines and got music thru the mail without any help from the internet pal. fear of god stuff was obtainable by just writing to the band.
only 17 day turn around on letters is real. |

this is what i wrote before... but
1) postage cost and it limits you... compare to inet where you can download non stop....
2) flyers spreading takes time and you need to make really a lot of them...
etc etc...
anyway it wasnt question though.... i meant more like there was plenty of bands who split ups cause of lack of interest from people/labels and so on... and in few years those recordings become classics, but when them was done only really few people used to know / follow band. So i was curious did Fear of the God and Hellhouse was some of those bands?
Cause in case ofd Hellhouse it is obvious that it got some attention after bootleg 7" that was few years ago..... etc |

But it was not about original tapes very often...it was tape trade (many recordings on 1 tape), personal recommendations from penfriends (letters), fanzines etc...It was like that even in 90s. Lot of rumours and disinformation too. _________________ TRADELIST:

| At least FEAR OF GOD was widely known and active in the UG music scene of that time, a very influential band. |

Bands like Hellhouse and Fear of God had plenty of press in the late 80's from underground zines. There weren't as many bands doing this style back then so it makes total sense that similar bands wrote to eachother. It's not like today when there are thousands of bands for every style of black metal. _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. Obviously... also not only not so many bands but also less demo/albums etc.... and everything was taking longer time.

Yeah of course, but as i said it was pretty time consuming, making copy of tape takes time, empty tape cost money and even stamps used to cost... even if you put some wax on them that post office doesnt really stamp them and you can re-use them
And rumors and disinformation is fine lol... at least there was mystery that is really gone.. |
