But isn't Kreation known for making shitty reissues (like the Godflesh ones)? _________________

I wasn't aware of it. I'll keep this one, listen to it, sell it to a KVLT kid eventually and await the proper reissue.
This was in the comment section:
If you'd bothered to look into the story even a little bit, you'd have gleaned that the reason Kreation didn't contact Warning was because it was assumed that with the thousands of dollars they spent licensing it, completely legally, from The Miskatonic Foundation included the original label informing the band.
They were also advised to make changes to differentiate it from the original. They may not have been great changes, but they were following direction.
People don't rip off doom bands to make money - it's hardly a route to unbridled financial success. Kreation genuinely express love for this record, and bad-mouthing them with 0% research is bad form. _________________ ----------------

Well if the label owns the rights and licenses it to someone that isn't a boot. Sounds like the band is upset they weren't included on the presentation. So a non band approved release but not a boot. _________________

Right on. I'll check it out and see if it's worth keeping, sound-wise.
And I got my Sorcery CD today; thanks Matt. \m/ _________________ ----------------

Has Kreation EVER asked a band's input on a release? Everyone I know who has ever been in a band that had anything released by them has nothing but bad things to say. _________________

I'd love to have this release on vinyl but there is no way I'm buying this. _________________ DOOMLORD wrote: ...22 min track and it just fucking crawls like a dying sloth through vomit = PURE EVIL ! |

| I could probably be tempted with my first press. It's nowhere near as good as I remembered it being! |

I don't know but to me this means it's a boot. I realize label politics are a sensitive subject, and there is lots of seedy/loopy stuff that goes on with people selling rights they don't own, etc. However, ultimately it's the band that has the final say in my view. There are obviously certain exceptions, however since Walker is planning on doing a proper reissue of this via Cyclone Empire, I consider it a boot. It's more or less like the unofficial Armagedda LP reissues that were done a while back. Similar situation, and similarly I consider them boots. _________________ Wants/Trades: http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=275935#275935

You can liken this to the Bolt Thrower- Realm of Chaos reissue. You certainly wouldn't call that a boot even though the band hates the reissue. Earache owns the album officially. I think you are blurring lines a little. Licensed property is official but as I said it may not have been with the wishes of the band. Two different topics really. _________________

I see your point, but I guess my point is that generally if the band is involved with/approves the release, the quality is almost always better. So boot or not, I think of it in terms of release quality, and obviously no one wants a shitty version of a reissued classic. _________________ Wants/Trades: http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=275935#275935
